走盡荒郊，
便是人們底道。
呀！黑暗裡歧路萬千，
叫我怎樣走好？
「上帝！快給我些光明吧，
讓我好向前跑！」
上帝慌著說，「光明？
我沒處給你找！
你要光明，
你自己去造！」
英文翻譯 / English Translation﹕
In a night leaden with gales and rain
ahead lies fields uncultivated.
Through those uncultivated fields
are roads for us all.
Ah, in darkness winding roads cross and turn,
how do I walk right?
“God! Shed me some light,
So that I could run and forth be!”
God hurriedly said, “light?
I’ve nowhere to gather from for you!
If you wish for light,
Go create your own!”
